Steve Olmsted, CPA

Principal

Steve has spent 30+ years as a CPA, the majority of those as a partner. Along with wife, Bernie, he founded O&A which has transitioned into Harbor View Advisors. Steve obtained his accounting degree from Cal State Fullerton, followed by his CPA license and Masters in Taxation.     Steve has spent a great deal of his career helping small to mid-size businesses and their ownership, but he enjoys all challenges of accounting and tax. When not working, Steve enjoys time with family and friends, as well as anything that keeps him active.

Bernie Olmsted

Principal

Bernie, along with Husband Steve, was a founding partner of O&A which after 18 years, transitioned into Harbor View Advisors. Bernie attended Michigan State University (Go Spartans) and spent her formable years as a Michigander. She was responsible for building the entire back office and infrastructure for O&A and has always taken great pride in the quality of team members and services our firm provides. When away from work, Bernie enjoys many passions – two of which are family (especially grandson Byron) and anything Detroit or Michigan. If you want to find Bernie on a Sunday in the fall, she’ll be front and center watching the Lions.

Paul Dustman, CPA

Director

Paul is the Director of Harbor View Advisors. He also manages Harbor View’s attest engagements. He is active in overseeing the various accounting assistance projects of the Firm. His experience includes working with both large and small organizations in a variety of industries including mortgage lending, physician associations, nonprofits, equity funds, construction, and employee benefit plans. Paul grew up in the Inland Empire and has over 16 years of experience in public accounting. Paul graduated from California State University, Fullerton earning a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance. He enjoys spending time with his wife, his four adult children, the family pup, and their ragdoll cat.

Paul is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Stacy Cartwright, CTEC

Operations Manager

Stacy was born, raised, and currently lives in Orange County, CA.  She has 10+ years’ experience as Operation Manager and in her free time she enjoys reading, road trips, fishing, and PC gaming.

Catarina So, CPA

Senior Tax Manager

Catarina is the Senior Tax Manager who manages Harbor View’s tax engagements. She has over 15 years of experience working in public accounting in the US and over 10 years of experience working in multinational corporations in South Korea. Her specialty is small to mid-size businesses and their ownership accounting, taxation and consulting optimizing financial performance including ensuring that businesses comply with tax law and regulations.

Carol Chen, CPA

Audit Supervisor

Carol is an audit supervisor at Harbor View Advisors and works on a variety of engagements including audits, compilations, and accounting services.  Her experience includes working with companies and individuals in the mortgage industry, managed services organizations, medical groups, and professional services. Carol graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.  She is an active member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants

Heidi Nguyen, CPA

Tax Supervisor

Heidi is a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years of experience working in public accounting, focusing on taxation. She graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

Taejung "TJ" Kim, CPA

Audit Supervisor

With over 17 years of experience in the public accounting and banking, TJ is a seasoned accountant specializing in Audit & Accounting. He has successfully executed numerous A&A and tax projects, and consistently delivers high-quality projects on time and within budget, earning the trust and satisfaction of clients and team members. TJ holds an MBA in Finance and BS in Engineering and is a Certified Public Accountant (California). Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, exercising, and mentoring young professionals interested in pursuing a career in accounting and finance.

Scott Archbold, CPA

Tax Supervisor

Scott is a Certified Public Accountant with over 10 years of experience working in public accounting, with a heavy focus in taxation. He received a BA in Marketing and Management from California State University Long Beach. Scott is married and has 2 kids. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the beach, camping, traveling, and spending time with the family.

Tenisha McDaniel, CTEC

Office Manager

Tenisha McDaniel is a seasoned professional with over 18 years of administrative experience, specializing in tax-related matters. Armed with a BA Degree in Criminology, she brings a unique perspective to her role, combining analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Tenisha is a certified CTEC professional, showcasing her commitment to staying current in the ever-evolving field of taxation. Outside of her professional endeavors, Tenisha finds joy in spending quality time with her family, unwinding through relaxation, and exploring new destinations through travel.

Barbara Reel, CPA

Audit Manager

Barbara is a licensed CPA and has provided accounting and auditing services in both public accounting and private industry for over thirty years. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. When not providing professional services, Barbara enjoys playing golf with friends and family and participating in Pilates classes several times per week.

Steve Schubert, EA

Senior Tax Advisor

Steve is currently an Enrolled Agent at Harbor View Advisors and a proud graduate of Cal Poly Pomona. He was inspired to pursue a career in accounting after realizing the demand for accounting professionals with a passion for helping people. Prior to working at Harbor View Advisors, he received his CA Real Estate Broker’s License and continues to hold this license and finds that it compliments his career in accounting as many clients have transactions involving the buying and selling of real estate. In his free time, Steve can be found cheering on his son at any number of youth baseball and rugby tournaments. Personally, he enjoys golfing, basketball, snowboarding, and anything sports.

Giovanni Hernandez

Tax Advisor

Giovanni, equipped with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy from CSULB and three years of valuable experience, is currently CPA eligible, underlining his unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards in accounting. Beyond the professional realm, Giovanni finds joy in outdoor adventures, particularly hiking and shares his enthusiasm for culinary exploration by discovering new restaurants with friends. His academic achievement, hands-on experience, and social spirit make Giovanni a well-rounded individual, contributing to the continuing growth of Harbor View Advisors.

lisha Ma

Audit Advisor

Lisha Ma graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting. She moved to California in 2016. After graduating, Lisha has been working as an audit associate at a Big 4 accounting firm before Harbor View Advisors/ Platform Accounting Group. Lisha’s favorite color is orange. During her free time, she enjoys watching movies, reading, hiking and spending her time with family.

Linda Irving

Administrative Assistant

In her professional life, Linda Irving is a seasoned bookkeeping professional with over 10 years of valuable experience, she embarked on her career journey with a focus on gaining comprehensive knowledge of tax preparation, starting from the grassroots level, as an integral part of Olmsted and Associates. Linda earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cal State Dominquez Hills, and also a master’s degree in accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. In her spare time, she prioritizes quality moments with family and friends, exploring new destinations and cuisines through her love for travel and culinary adventures. An avid reader, Linda indulges in murder mystery and law theme novels or in old tv shows like Columbo, Murder, She Wrote and McMillian and Wife.

Leslie Meyer

Administrative Assistant

Leslie has have worked for 24 years in accounts receivable, accounts payable and collections. She is dedicated to ensuring timely collections that need to be addressed.  She also helps during tax season with e-file forms that need to be returned to our office and payments that need to be collected.  Her training was at a company that sold Industrial and automotive paint and supplies for many different levels of companies. She attended a junior college (many years ago) and received an AA in general education.
